Can One Berhad was fined by Bursa Malaysia RM50k for concealing certain info that they became aware prior to making announcement so as to benefit from the market movement thereby breaching the Bursa listing rules.  Can One  Berhad argued that  the fine is oppresive and they were not aware of the particular info when they proceeded to make the announcement at 627pm on the said day. However Bursa highlighted the fact one of the director was aware of the particular vital info as early as 1pm on the day of the announcement but choose to conceal it.  Further with the turnover of RM 1 billion and Profit 100 million , Can One Berhad should not be feeling that the RM50k is oppresive. Dr Syed Iskandar spoke to the lawyers representing Bursa Malaysia, Skrine & Co after the case ended and judgement is expected on the next date, 29/10/2013  offering his opinion that the case is generally favouring Bursa Malaysia and Can One Bhd is merely an attempt to save RM50k despite the facts are  against them and this is typical old school towkay mentality calculating every single cent in an attempt to save even though their action clearlybreaches the Bursa listing rules relating to the  accountability of the announcement made by public listed company.
