Remand hearing

Criminal Procedure Code

Answer: Cheating . For any suspects/accussed person requiring our services to assist in defending you, either you or your family needs to e mail to us or submit us the orange form available at the front page of this website by filling and clicking the send button for us to assess the case.

Some relevant laws are: Anti Money Laundering Act, Penal Code, Bafia, Financial Services Act, Islamic Financial Services Act etc

Remand order granted against you does not automatically render you guilty of any crimes.  Remand is not a form of punishment but merely to assist the investigating officer(IO) in his investigation. The IO will not be able to keep you longer than neccesary and in the end the IO either need to ensure that the Prosecuting Officer (PO) or Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) charge you or release you.  You and your family should be aware of the remand proceedings procedure thoroughly so as to ensure justice is seen to be done to both parties.  The fact that  the IO is busy with other cases  and did nothing to investigate will become a factor for the Magistrate in granting a shorter remand period or even ordered you to be released by the end of the day. There are other valid justifications under the Criminal Procedure Code for the Magistrate to ensure the suspects is not being detained longer than neccesary.

What is the section 420 of the Penal Code (Malaysia)? How about Remand hearing?
